Football

Allen's team played last night and lost by 4, but he did well.
Blocking a kick. The football is between his legs! He says it didn't hurt, though:

Serial casting

Nick is surviving a serial casting process of his left foot. We're on week 2 and he picked orange for the new color. Last week the cast was blue. This process stretches out the foot to a more normal position and readies him for a new AFO.

The paint on the face was our afternoon activity. He's a dog and the "tongue" actually worked well as part of an oral therapy to encourage him to reproduce the position and lengthen his real tongue. LOL!

US Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer's Academy Graduation

Grammy joined us in CA for Michael's graduation. Allen and Emma attended the dinner with us while Ms. Janet watched Jessi and the boys in the hotel room. She was the boys' bus driver this past year in Kodiak, so it was nice for the kids to have a familiar face so far away from home.

Camping

While we were in Petaluma, CA, we spent the first week at the KOA campground. Our last night there, we had to follow tradition and make smores. Whenever the boys see fire, they start to sing "Happy Birthday", so we had entertainment.

San Fran

We spent a day on Alcatraz, Pier 39 and other highlights of San Fran including driving down Lombard Street. So much to see, so little time.

Winchester Mystery House, San Jose

The Winchester Mystery House is in San Jose, CA and was built by the daughter of the creator of the Winchester rifle. She was just a bit crazy and believed all of the spirits of those killed by her father's rifle haunted her home. She designed her masion with narrow staircases, doors that opened to walls and lots of windows to confuse the spirits.
My attempt to capture spirits on film.....just so happened, though, these spirits still inhabit human bodies. LOL!
